Meet Our Pastor Rev. Daniel E. Barham
Danny and his wife Sandra both grew up in Roanoke, Virginia where they met in the high school band. They were married in 1982 and have two adult children; Charles who lives in Roanoke and Chris and his wife Paige who also live in Roanoke.
Danny is a two-time graduate of the College at Southeastern Seminary with undergraduate degrees in Divinity and Pastoral Ministry. He answered the call to ministry late in life after having been a nurse for many years.
He was ordained by Mill Creek Baptist Church and most recently served as the pastor at Corinth Baptist Church in Oxford, NC. Prior to entering the pulpit, he served as a deacon, taught young adult Sunday school, chaperoned youth mission trips, volunteered annually for VBS, was a member of the puppet team and he and Sandra have served on mission to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the Standing Rock Indian reservation in North Dakota. Danny has a spiritual passion for teaching God’s word and for feeding the hungry. His belief is no one should ever go hungry either spiritually or physically.
When not studying for a sermon, Danny enjoys reading, cooking, and of course, eating! He will tell you he has many favorite passages of scripture but two in particular are: 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” And Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
